I have always had an inclination towards integrative medicine, even before I pursued my medical degree. I remember growing up with effervescent vitamin C to fend off a cold, with brewer’s yeast powder to treat acne and with fish oil pearls for stronger bones. I remember reading a book one summer about achieving better vision without glasses. These ideas and practices sparked in me an interest in alternative medicine at a young age. Participating in competitive swimming as a teenager demonstrated to me the benefits of regular exercise for physical and mental well-being. During my medical training, I referred to textbooks about medicinal herbs and I always wanted to learn about acupuncture.
I completed my residency program and became board certified in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics in 2001. After practicing in primary care for a few years, I joined the Andrew Weil Integrative Medicine Fellowship in 2006. In 2009, I studied acupuncture through the Helms Institute for Medical Acupuncture and passed the American Board of Medical Acupuncture in 2012 and the American Board of Integrative Medicine in 2015. I also took time to study Functional Medicine through the Institute for Functional Medicine.
Most recently, I passed the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine in 2024.
Throughout my 20 + years of experience, in both the inpatient and outpatient world of medicine, I have sought to find a balance between traditional medicine and alternative medicine.
Functional and lifestyle medicine training, combined with my medical degree, integrative medicine fellowship, and medical acupuncture certification, has brought me full circle in the vast world of treating patients.
I work with patients of all ages in Ohio and Michigan. Health and wellness are a life journey. Join me today to embark on yours.

Kristi Lorenc, CNP, AFMC
I am a Family Nurse Practitioner and am Certified in Functional Medicine by the School of Applied Functional Medicine. After having walked many years in the shoes of someone with a chronic diagnosis and dis-ease, I searched for a different path. A path that was narrow but had more than simply symptom management. I found that path in functional medicine. As I started peeling the onion in my healing journey, I discovered that feeling fantastic was not only obtainable but a reality. I knew that this was something I had an obligation to offer my own patients in the family practice setting that I serve.
I began my formal functional medicine training and implemented the principles in the office setting. I quickly saw excellent results and have countless stories of victory over illness, pain, and suffering. My passion grew as well as my knowledge and experience. Having lived with many of the symptoms my patients experience, I have true compassion for those that feel stuck or hopeless with their physical or mental states. I want to offer hope, healing, and vitality to anyone willing to walk that road less traveled.
I work with both males and females from the age of newborn on up, in the state of Ohio and Michigan.
